Mokgatle at launch of the re-fenced Kagiso reservoir I welcome everyone to Mogale City especially Kagiso to finally re-fence and strength the reservoir, which was a painful point in the history of the community of Kagiso. Today, we can confidently say that that past is behind us. We are also delighted that Rand Water did not give up but remained steadfast to restore the reservoir to its intended state. Rand Water has shown that it is a company that is committed to the sustainable development and welfare of the community of Kagiso. Rand Water exposed the community of Kagiso in an educational and training programme on water purification, water pollution and all the other water related themes. The educational programme has enlightened our people. Re a leboga, Rand Water. I am convinced that the partnership between Rand Water, Kagiso community and the municipal is a winning partnership to secure and protect assets like reservoirs Mogale city is an environmental friendly where our water is rated as one of the best in South Africa .Our water purification systems were declared the best in south Africa by the Water Institute of south Africa. Three of the city's water purification plants were voted to be in the top five nationally. We would like to argue our community to have an interest in the water industry fir career opportunities .It is our wish that young people would have an interest in being engineers and project managers in the water sector We are fortunate that Rand Water has shown its commitment in community development and that through this project more mutually beneficial project shall be identified. I would like to see young people of Mogale City visiting Rand Water to be exposed to technical skills required to produce water for the citizens. When people are not informed and educated about issues of water conservation, purification and pollution there will not be an appreciation of all the other water assets that are built within communities. We can together break the legacy of the past of ignorance and apathy. Together, we can build strong communities by providing information and knowledge that can change people's lives for the better. Mogale City Local Municipality, Rand Water and Kagiso community is a formidable partnership that should be governed by values of empowerment and sustainable development. Today, we have been offered an opportunity to turnaround the reservoir to be one of the best in Mogale City in all respects. I believe that this can be done. As a city that hosts the Cradle of Humankind, I would like to welcome you home, where the traces of the fist human being are found in this city.
