I am thrilled that this day has been dedicated to a Mayoral Golf Day and was supported in such an amazing way. This is a humbling experience to have seen such a great response from private sector companies and individuals who play golf.

This Mayoral Golf Day is such a beginning of many more annually where we will be provided with an opportunity to network and share ideas about solving problems in our own organizations.

I want to thank every sponsor and golfer that came to day to participate in this Golf Day. We are pleased and encouraged by your superb response in a short period of time.

Programme Director, the Krugersdorp Golf Course will be a permanent venue for this Mayoral Golf Day and the tournament shall grow immensely. The Mogale Foundation is presenting this Mayoral Golf Day together with the Mogale Local Municipality.

The Mogale Foundation consists of talented and successful individuals like Patrick "Ace" Ntsoelengoe who will focus on sports development, Hugh Masekela who will work on Arts, Culture and Heritate, Jean Davidson, farmer and businesswoman, Robert Forsyth, Chairman of Recreation Africa, Richard Moloko, CEO of Akani Leisure and Investment Group, Leon Wessels, Commissioner with Human Rights Commisson, Gert Visser, Quantity Surveyor and Aboobaker Varachia, a businessman.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the foundation has the following key strategic focus areas: sports development, arts and culture, leadership and youth development, educational assistance programme through scholarships and bursaries, HIV & AIDS, Science and entrepreneurial training.

You are invited to participate in this Golf Day so that we can form strategic relationships in the various focus areas of the Mogale Foundation. The Foundation is geared towards creating an environment that is caring and conducive to nurturing talented and successful young people in Mogale City. The youth, women, children and elderly are going to be strategic stakeholders of the foundation.

The proceeds of the Mayoral Golf Day will go into the work and programmes of the Mogale Foundation. This Golf Day will be an annual event and it will grow from year to year.

I want to thank all our sponsors for making this day successful. This will be a memorable day because of your generosity.

I am please to now welcome you to Mogale City, the city of the Cradle of Humankind. We hope that you will explore the city beyond this Golf Day. Together with you this city shall be an exemplary city where people can visit, live and invest in because it is a safe and secure local area.
