Comment sought on draft IDP and budget
14 April 2009 By Romaana Naidoo RESIDENTS can have their say on the City's latest draft Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and draft budget, which are open for comment until 7 May. The IDP is a five-year strategic programme for a municipality that states the council's vision for the long-term development of its municipality. It links and integrates all the municipality's key strategic plans. Most importantly, the IDP should be compatible with national and provincial development plans. The City has sought public input on the document through road shows, workshops and public meetings since 2002. Copies of the draft IDP and budget are available in all nine municipal public libraries - Azaadville Library, Central Library, Desmond Tutu Library, Lewisham Library, Sakkie Nel Library, Kagiso Library, Lusaka Library, Magaliesburg Library and Muldersdrift Library - as well as at all ward offices and online. Written comments must be placed in suggestion boxes at the libraries and ward offices, or emailed to tshepoma@mogalecity.gov.za or tshepol@mogalecity.gov.za or dannyt@mogalecity.gov.za. In addition, cluster meetings have been planned between 05 May 2009 - Sunday, 10th May 2009 where people can give oral input on the documents. They are being held as follows:
