Home Residents Rates How rates are calculated
Contents:   Paying your rates | Tariffs | Rebates

PROPERTY rates are calculated on the value of the land plus the value of any buildings or improvements. This value is based on the property’s market value – the price you would realistically get for a property on the open market, between a willing buyer and a willing seller.

Using this as a base, a comparative value of all properties in a neighbourhood is calculated, which is used to set the property rates.

Different rates are apportioned to different categories of property. To view your property’s value, check the Mogale City General Valuation Roll.

For more information on how the rates are calculated, check these FAQs.
