The explosion means that Rand Water is unable to pump water into the Kenmare Reservoir which supplies Noordheuwel, Kenmare, Rangeview, Featherbrooke, Monument, Rant en dal, Chancliff, portions of Muldersdrift and Krugersdorp North areas.
Rand Water expects repairs to be completed between Wednesday, 26 April 2017 and Friday. 28 April 2017.
The Kenmare Reservoir is currently 50% full but it is rapidly decreasing because there is no supply. To avoid water supply interruptions, residents are urged to use water sparingly. Consumption must be limited to household use, no irrigation is allowed until the repair is completed.
Once repairs at Kenmare pump station have been completed and Rand Water’s power supply is restored, normal water supply to aforementioned areas will resume.
