Mogale City Mayor to host Annual Mayoral Golf Day
03 October 2007
The Executive Mayor of Mogale City Local Municipality Koketso Calvin Seerane in partnership with First National Bank will on Friday the 12th October 2007, host the Annual Mogale City Mayoral Golf Day at the Krugersdorp Golf Club in Krugersdorp.
The main aim of the golf day is to promote Mogale City as one of the most sought after business and tourist destinations in the country. The Golf Day also gives the Mayor a platform to raise funds for different charities in the greater Mogale City area as part of the social responsibility programme. It also brings together current and potential suppliers and investors to spend the day getting to know the municipality personnel and one another.
The Mayoral golf day is one of the many events that the mayor has and will continue to host in an effort to promote the municipality and spend time networking with various business and political associates.
A field of 100 golfers, consisting of prominent local, provincial and national government officials, as well as corporate business executives, is expected to grace this occasion on the said date. This will give the sponsors an opportunity to network with all these government and industry players in a more relaxed and friendly environment. A prize giving dinner and a “Umhlangano” in the evening will give the players and sponsors a further opportunity to network with the players and those who did not participate in the golf game during the day.
The official golf day will start at 10 am with registration, followed by golf tee-off times from 11 am until 12h30pm. All the players should finish their golfing rounds around 5 pm, and thereafter they will have time to wash up and network with their counterparts around the Lapa at the golf course. The prize-giving ceremony will start at 18h00 until 19h00, where participants will be addressed by the Mayor and other major sponsors. Dinner will be served at 19h00 and thereafter guests will be entertained with good African and “old school” music, and they will also get a chance to network further until late into the night.
