Unplanned water interruptions

Mogale City Local Municipality hereby notifies residents of Muldersdrift – Nooitgedacht / Rietfontein, Kenmare, Mindalore and surrounding areas about unplanned water supply interruptions due to the following unforeseen emergencies:

Muldersdrift:
The main water supply from Johannesburg Water supplying the Nooitgedacht / Rietfontein areas, burst on Friday 14 September 2018. The pipeline was partially repaired and water supply was restored to some of the areas. A contractor started working on the pipeline yesterday, 17 September 2018. The pipeline is expected to be fully repaired during the day but water supply will only be opened and restored later this week after the concrete thrust block has set. A water tanker is available at Rietfontein Shopping Complex (hardware on Beyers Naude Road) for emergency water supply. More tankers are moving between Rietfontein Village and Nooitgedacht.

Mindalore:
A few major pipe bursts were experienced over the weekend in the Mindalore area and affected water supply to residents. Maintenance teams are on site attending to the emergencies. It is expected that, if no further bursts are experienced, water supply will be fully restored today.

Kenmare:
The municipality has been experiencing insufficient water supply from Rand Water for the past weeks. As a result, minimum reservoir levels cannot be maintained to supply the entire area, and higher situated areas are affected on a regular basis. Mogale City’s Water and Sanitation Department is in contact with Rand Water on a daily basis, and a meeting and site visit have been scheduled for today, 18 September 2018 to investigate the matter. A water tanker is available at Kenmare Reservoir on Shannon Road for emergency water supply.

We apologise for this inconvenience and your cooperation is highly appreciated.
