Our library and information services is doing well advancing with the technological changes in this digital age. Determined to making information as accessible and easy usable as possible, our libraries have subscribed to several online platforms on behalf of its users. One of these major online platforms is called SABINETonline journals and SABINET legal (NetLaw).

SABINETonline journals encompasses the breadth and depth of African research content, offering the most comprehensive, searchable collection of full-text African electronic journals available on a single platform. NetLaw on the other hand includes all updated and consolidated South African Principal Acts, Rules and Regulations since the year 1910. Another subscription, the SA e-Gazettes collection, which includes National Government and Provincial e-Gazettes dating back to 1994 and includes Parliamentary Bills from 1999, which are updated daily, as new Gazettes become available online.

To enjoy this exciting service and many other platforms, one needs to be a registered library user. If you are not yet a registered user, please visit any of our 12 libraries in the city for a free membership application and remember to bring along a copy of your identity book or card and proof of residence (also obtainable at your Ward Office).

How to access SABINET legal – electronic SA Gazettes and electronic ACTS

Sabinet legal can be accessed through https://discover.sabinet.co.za/, however due to the limited number of users who can access the platform at the same time; users are required to contact library personnel in order to assist them sign in to the platform.

DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to multi millions of international high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals. All DOAJ services are free of charge including being indexed.
