The Executive Mayor of Mogale City Local Municipality, Cllr Tyrone Gray, joined officials from the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, West Rand District Municipality, and his own Mogale City’s Public Safety, in a business compliance blitz which aims to drive compliance of businesses operating within the city in Kagiso yesterday.

In most of the shops visited, the numerous cases of non-compliance prompted Public Safety officials to confiscate goods discovered not to be good for human consumption. Working with all relevant stakeholders in other spheres of government, the municipality led by the Office of the Executive Mayor has committed to ensuring compliance of various businesses and where there’s failure to comply, law enforcement ensues.

In supporting such programmes, the community is also encouraged to not only look out for such blitz programmes but also report non-compliance to the Municipality to ensure goods sold and consumed are safe, whilst business operational activities meet set compliance regulations as determined by the various sector requirements.
